Why upgrade your fuse board?
Your fuse board, or consumer unit, is what protects you and your home when something goes wrong. Older boards with rewireable fuses or no RCD protection cannot react quickly enough to an electric shock or an earth fault. A modern consumer unit can.
Current regulations require consumer units in homes to be housed in a non-combustible enclosure, which is why modern boards are metal. If yours is an older plastic unit or still has fuse wire, it is worth having it checked.

How long does a fuse board upgrade take?
Most are completed in a single day. The power will be off for part of that time, and we will tell you roughly when.
Why do you need to test the circuits?
Modern RCD protection will trip if there is an existing fault on a circuit. Testing first means we find and fix those problems rather than leaving you with a board that keeps tripping.
Will I get a certificate?
Yes. You receive an Electrical Installation Certificate and the work is notified to building control.
Do I need a new fuse board to sell my house?
Not always, but buyers and surveyors often flag old fuse boxes. Upgrading beforehand can avoid delays.
Do you give fixed prices?
